00:00Welcome to Quantum Academy. My name is Ms. Nakale, and I will be your Mathematics teacher for Grade 8.

00:18In today's lesson, we are going to learn how to use a scientific calculator correctly.

00:35By the end of this lesson, you will be able to enter calculations using the right key sequence, use the clear and memory keys, and get correct answers every time.

01:10A scientific calculator is a tool that helps us work with large numbers, complex calculations, and many operations at once.

01:30Important: A calculator only gives the right answer if YOU enter the calculation correctly. You must think first, then use the calculator.

02:15Group 1 — CLEAR keys: AC clears everything. CE clears last entry. C clears current calculation but keeps memory.

03:00Group 2 — MEMORY keys: M+ adds to memory. M- subtracts. MR recalls. MC clears memory.

04:30KEY SEQUENCES: Enter the FULL calculation first, then press equals. Never press equals in the middle.

05:20Example: 4 + 3 × 2 = 10, not 14. Multiplication comes before addition — your calculator knows this rule.

06:30Memory example: (15×4) + (22×3) → store 60 in M+, then store 66 in M+, then press MR to get 126.

07:30Practice: Q1: 256×47=12032 · Q2: (1248÷24)+56=108 · Q3: (18×9)+(14×6)=246
